It developed out the Naga Hills District Tribal Council, an association laid out in 1945 by the Deputy Commissioner of the Naga Hills region. The gathering was rearranged to frame NNC in 1946 at Sanis (in present-day Wokha region), with Eno T. Aliba Imti Ao as the President, and other fairly chosen Naga delegates as its individuals. Afterward, NNC announced Independence one day in front of India ie on fourteenth August 1947.

History of Nagaland

In April 1945, the representative magistrate of the Naga Hills District, C. R. Pawsey, laid out the Naga Hills District Tribal Council as a gathering of the different Naga bunches in the district.[1] This body supplanted a previous association called Naga Club, and in February 1946, it was rearranged as a political association called Naga National Council (NNC).[1] NNC's goal was to sort out the terms of relationship with the Government of India after the British withdrawal.
The leader of the NNC was T.Aliba Imti Ao.Angami Naga, T. Sakhrie. T  The joint secretary of the NNC was an  T Aliba Imti Ao,was the child of a minister, was an alumni and had been the secretary of the Hills Students' Federation, a member of the All India Students Federation (AISF).Organizatio

Organization

NNC had two focal chambers, one each at Kohima and Mokokchung. Every focal chamber was parted into various ancestral gatherings, which were additionally parted into sub-ancestral committees. For the most part, a sub-ancestral committee was framed with five towns. Individuals were not chosen, yet picked by the NNC leadership.[2]
The Kohima Central Council comprised of 12 individuals, of whom seven had a place with the Angami clan. It was directed by a Liangmei teacher of Kohima.[2]
The Mokokchung Central Council had 15 individuals, of whom five were Ao, four Sema, three Lotha, two Sangtam, and one Chang. The Konyaks had not gone to the main gathering of the board, and were not addressed. There was no portrayal from the unadministered region.

Rise of Phizo and the secessionist ideology

In June 1947, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru kept in touch with the Naga National Council (NNC) secretary, T. Sakhrie, saying that the Indian government is against the different electorates, as they "limit and harm the little gathering by keeping it isolated from rest of the nation."[4]

The hardline NNC pioneer Angami Zapu Phizo independently met the Assamese, Garos, Khasis, Lushais, Abors, Mishmis and Meiteis pioneers trying to persuade them to frame autonomous nations of their own, rather than joining the Union of India. Be that as it may, his endeavors fizzled.

On 19 July, an eleven-part Naga designation drove by A Z Phizo, Viselie, Khrehie and Seto met the Indian patriot pioneer Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi at Delhi to examine the issue of Naga independence. The NNC secretary T. Sakhrie had communicated fears in his letter to Gandhi that the Indian government could utilize military power to possess the Naga region forcibly. Gandhi guaranteed the Naga designation that he would go to Kohima, and he would be "quick to be shot before any Naga is killed".

Formation of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN)

The Naga National Council (NNC) ideal appeared with its memorable birth on second February, 1946. The Naga National Council was equitably framed by the Naga agents with Eno T. Aliba Imti Ao as the President NSCN. The arrangement of NNC depended on clear personality ground of God's making of the Naga race, history, custom and culture.
Hence with fair and far-sightedness of NNC initiative and along with the will, the heads of the day officially brought the Naga groups of the relative multitude of Nagas together into one major family as a Nation. From now on, the NNC and Nagas in general are compelled by a sense of honor to maintain the uniqueness of the Nagas as a free group and sovereign country as in old time.
The Nagas have our old domain known as Nagaland that includes all Naga Regions. What's more, initially and generally Nagaland is the Homeland of the Nagas from bygone time. Furthermore, we have been in Nagaland as free Naga individuals and a sovereign country. At the end of the day, Nagaland is never important for unfamiliar individuals' country. Our ancestors obviously possessed Nagaland. They were its expert and we ceaselessly own it till date. NNC unequivocally proclaimed Nagaland freedom on fourteenth August, 1947 a day in front of India got its freedom from their country ace, British Empire. Furthermore, that NNC sent the noteworthy announcement message of Nagaland autonomy to British India Government, India and United Nations. Momentarily speaking, NNC is solidly grounded on the undisputable underpinning of Naga verifiable right.
It becomes exposed that the committed town seniors, magnanimous workers of both youthful and old and public heads of Nagaland worked the entire day for public great and Nagaland's succeeding. The deeds and accomplishments of the past showed that the NNC pioneers drove by A.Z. Phizo made broad visiting in significant Regions as well as different regions as well, to allow individuals to grasp the right of the Nagas and sovereign Nagaland. With essential readiness NNC seriously led noteworthy Naga deliberate plebiscite to maintain Nagaland autonomy where close to 100% casted a ballot to pay tribute to Nagaland stand unabashed. Genuinely, the previous NNC pioneers got along nicely and strikingly carried together public obligations and responsibilities regarding a splendid and more joyful Nagaland.
At last, The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) was set up in 1956 and naturally directed under the Yehzabo of Nagaland in the teeth of forceful demonstrations sent off by assailant India. By the finesse of God there is an end of war however the hostility is on the way to a fair end.
On this memorable 65th Anniversary of NNC Formation Day, second February, 2011, I call upon the children and girls of Nagaland to ascend and bear the obligations of the Naga Nation with regards to our inheritance as gave by the Almighty God.
